School Sports Competitions
Parents are invited to register students for one of our School Sports teams, which train and compete outside school hours. On registration, parents will be asked to pay a charge to cover costs associated with running the sport. We are dependent on parent help to manage and coach the teams. Blackwood Primary operates under a ‘no pay, no play’ policy. We are able to offer the following sports:

AFL
Blackwood Primary School is located in the West Adelaide Football Club SANFL zone.
Our students participate in the AFL Auskick programme conducted at the Mitcham Hills Centre between May - July each year. This nine week Saturday morning programme provides an opportunity for children to develop the basic skills of AFL.
Blackwood Primary School has two AFL sides competing in the year 2/3 and year 4/5 West Adelaide Football Club Zone. Training for both teams is conducted at the school on weeknights between 3.30pm and 5pm. Games are played on Saturday mornings between 8.30 and 10.30am.

Basketball
Coordinator: Amanda Wardle
Fees: $5 per game, paid on the night plus School Fee. Teams need to provide a parent manager.
Games held at the Blackwood Rec Centre
Teams: Interest in basketball is strong at our school, with many teams entered every year
Practice sessions are held on different days, according to the availability of the coaches.
